What to know about me? My primary (and most demanding) job is being a mother to two great little girls. I've recently added published author to my resume, and sometimes it's tough going balancing the two!
All of my stories are based on bedtimes stories inspired by my girls. Sometimes, they want stories about princesses. And sometimes they ask for monsters, or goats, or a dinosaur named KiKi. The stories are told with love and improvisation, and it was my most fervent goal to have them published; to have a tangible piece of my fondest memories.
I've been telling stories as long as I can remember. My first tall tales were spun sitting at the breakfast table with my grandmother, when I was maybe four or five. We would compete to see who could come up with the most outlandish story. She was stiff competition.
My first published book was in rhyme, though it may be the last! When writing I try to visualize myself telling the story aloud to my girls. I currently write primarily children and middle grade books, so it's important to me for my work to be easily understood with just the right amount of thought provoking content and introduction to new and fun words.
